Guess what! I came home today!! It was a pretty wild ride! Mom was so excited to get me home. But, no sooner than I walked through the door, I busted one of my stitches. Mom wasn’t too excited about that. She called my vet doctor lady and we got to go back and say hi!! They were so nice, they gave me kisses and a few more stitches and 2 staples. It didn’t hurt too much! They said I have a really high pain tolerance. Of course I do; I’m a tough guy! Didn’t ya know???
But, the worst part was them making me wear the “Cone of Shame” again. Mom told me I’m going to have to wear it until my stitches and staples come out. The staples are kinda cool, very manly! But, the cone is awful!!! I mean not cool at all. And of course my little sister is totally making fun of me. She was so freaked out she won’t come near me with it on. She kept saying I was scary looking with it on?!! Mom posted a picture, do u think I look scary? Dorky maybe but not scary! UGGGG! And walking around with it on is awful! It took 3 tries for me to get in the house!! Talk about embarrassing!
But, I’m getting around really well on my leg. I even jumped into the car all by myself. (well, when I didn’t have the cone on.) My vet doctor lady, my mom, my vet tech girls said I’m getting around so good! I mean they could hardly keep up!! Mom got on me about heeling, but, I was so excited to be going home I forgot my training for a few minutes. But, I’m usually a really well behaved boy! I just got excited is all! Then, I calmed down and remembered that I’m suppose to walk next to mom and not pull on my leash. She helped me out of the car when we got home the second time. And I walked around the yard a little. And Dad was working on one of the tractors and came over to me to say hi! I was so excited to see him!!! I gave him kisses and he gave me a big hug! Did I tell you how excited and happy I am that I’m home!!
But the best part is that I’m home. Did I tell you that?? Mom even got me a new fluffy bed! It’s heaven to lay on! I left my old bed at the vets so another dog could be comfy during their stay! We also donated a lot of blankets to my vet office! Make sure you take a blanket or two to your vet, on your next visit, you wouldn’t believe how many they go through! They were so happy when mom brought them in! The doggies were super happy too!!
Well, mom just gave me my medicine and I’m getting a little tired! Time for a nap! Hope you had a great day too!! See you tomorrow!!
Wooo hooo! Oh there’s nothing like coming home after surgery, it really is the best place on earth isn’t it?
No, I don’t think you look dorky at all with the cone of shame. In fact I think you are even cooler than before because it takes real talent to get around with that thing on.
Sorry you busted a stitch. Lots of dogs do that. Just take it easy for a while, pretty soon you’ll be back on your toes and ruling that house from all 3 paws in no time!
Thanks Jerry! It sure is a lot of work to try to figure out how to move around with that cone on. But, I’m trying to figure it out! Stay tuned!!
Right on dude, glad you are home. Oh isn’t it great to be home with the pack?
Now you can get back to the business of keeping things in order and watching over your pack like the awesome dog that you are!
Oh and yeah, trust me, the ladies really dig a guy with battle scars!
